Part of the "Inspired by…" series, the Papageno Bracelet is inspired by the flamboyant bird catcher from Mozart’s The Magic Flute. Often depicted covered in bird feathers and with a birdcage, this eccentric character who only yearns for a mate of his own, is one of the most beloved in opera.
Bright colored beads evoke the plumage of love birds. Tiny bells symbolize the magic bells given to Papageno on his quest. Special charms include the pan pipes Papageno uses to lure birds and his birdcage. The love bird charm and heart shaped beads reflect the exuberant aria “Pa- Pa-Pa” in which, after much travail, Papageno finally wins his Papagena.
All "Inspired By..." Series Bracelets come with a card that identifies the symbolism of the charms and colors used.
