Parsifal

Wagners' mystical fairy tale, Parsifal, is drawn on ancient sources. Wagner maintained that it was not an opera, but rather a performance for the consecration of the stage. For many years, it was forbidden to perform the work outside of his theater at Bayreuth, the Festspielhaus.
