The Valjean's Transformation Bracelet is inspired by the main character of Victor Hugo's Les Miserables. A meaningful gift for Les Miz fans.

A desperate Valjean steals silverware and silver plates from Bishop Myriel. But when Valjean is caught by the police, Myriel saves him from certain arrest by stating he gave the valuables to Valjean who has "forgotten" to also take the silver candle sticks. Myriel then tells Valjean that he has with the silver purchased the criminal's soul for God. Valjean begins to change the path of his life transformed by this act of love and compassion.

I chose silver beads and a candlestick charm to evoke the Bishop's silver which is the symbol of Valjean's chance for a new life as an honest man. The entwined hearts charm symbolizes the power of love and kindness to change Valjean's life and in turn the lives of others by his acts of compassion and forgiveness. The cameo charm represents Valjean's adopted daughter Cosette whom he saves from a life of cruelty. Touches of blue and red evoke the French flag symbolic of the story's setting.

All "Inspired By..." Series Bracelets come with a card that identifies the symbolism of the charms and colors used.

Such a treat to see you sell this bracelet! My family and I are obsessed with Les Mis and heartily sing along whenever we hear the soundtrack! This is a wonderful bracelet representing Valjean, and the story itself. It's so well made with care and pride, I love seeing on my wrist as a reminder to forgive and show love.

    Not really a jewelry person

I wouldn't mind if it were a tad bigger, but... I love the movie musical version of Les Mis, and wanted this, so... Merry Christmas to me!
