Loveofyoung Werther
A beautiful work. The color scheme and charms really symbolizes the opera.
Part of the "Inspired by…" series, the Sorrows of Young Werther Bracelet is inspired by Massenet's retelling of Goethe's romantic tale. Werther, a sensitive young poet, finds himself unable to live without the woman he loves. He takes drastic action to cope with the pain of a love that can never be fulfilled.
Deep teal and green beads with glass leaves evoke the poet's connection with nature. Glass hearts reflect his hopeless love for Charlotte. A love letter charm represents the letters from Werther that Charlotte cannot bring herself to destroy. The tree charm is the linden where Werther asks Charlotte to bury him. The heart charm with a negative space in its design is Werther's heart filled with pain and loss.
All "Inspired By..." Series Bracelets come with a card that identifies the symbolism of the charms and colors used.

I am an opera singer turned teacher and I sang Charlotte in Werther, which is my favorite opera. This bracelet is gorgeous and reminds me of who I am and what I do when I’m working with my highschoolers and feeling overwhelmed. Thank you.
My daughter is a music librarian with the Chicago Lyric Opera. I asked her which opera was her favorite, and so sent her this bracelet for her birthday. She loved it and mentioned that someone did a good job on research for the items on the bracelet.
