The Turandot earrings are stunning. I bought them to wear to the Met live stream performance and I received several compliments. They look striking on and are also comfortable (do not tug on the ears). I felt comfortable wearing them to the movie theater but you could also dress them up (I would wear them to an opera house or dressy occasion). The large beads are a beautiful blue color that contrasts with the red beads and Chinese symbols that are central to the plot. Now I have the earrings to keep and remind me of the show.
The Turandot earrings evoke the riddles of Puccini's story set in mythical China.
Beads and charms represent the answers to Turandot's three riddles for Calaf: Hope (golden shimmer crystal), Blood (red droplets) and Turandot (crown). A Chinese symbol symbolizes Turandot's final answer "His name is Love". Chinese cloisonné beads with a sun design represent Calaf's Dawn triumph and the glorious final chorus.
Note: The cloisonne bead is light for it's size- its hollow.
Different styles of earring backs are available from the list above. Sterling Silver filled lever-backs are available for an additional fee of $4.00.
