I gave my dear friend this bracelet. She loved it and it has special meaning to her.
Part of the "Inspired by…" series, the Habanera Bracelet is inspired by the seductive aria from Bizet’s Carmen. The beautiful gypsy Carmen relates the unpredictable nature of love, symbolized by a rebellious bird as she weaves a love spell to capture the oblivious Don Jose.
Eclectic beads evoke the wandering gypsy spirit; rather than being comprised of all crystal or Czech beads as many of my bracelets are, I thought about a mixture of different beads one might collect through a gypsy's travels. Tiny hearts and birds further reflect the words of the song and a bit of gypsy "jingle" is incorporated with tiny bell chimes. The charms symbolize the rebellious bird, love and the flower with which Carmen will bewitch Jose.
All "Inspired By..." Series Bracelets come with a card that identifies the symbolism of the charms and colors used.
My favorite part of this particular bracelet is the eclectic beads used to evoke the essence of the gypsy that Carmen is. They're wild and colorful, just like Carmen. I bought this bracelet for my best friend who I met when we performed in a production of the opera together. Cindy has a bracelet for every special occasion and special opera lover in your life!
Came on time for Christmas, even though I ordered at the last min. Quality was just as advertised. Came in a great gifting bag. I've recommended this site to at least 5 friends already. Mom happy.
I saw this bracelet on Facebook and thought it would be a great present for my friend Penny. She is a mezzo soprano and would be a wonderful Carmen but I have never seen her do this role. So in giving it to her, I told her I would have loved to see her sing this role. She loves the bracelet. Thank you...oh the candy was a special treat too.
Great Price-Quality-Materials all first class. Great present for opera lovers or not!
I purchased the Habanera Bracelet for my girlfriend's birthday and for Valentine's Day... She loved it and put it on immediately for our dinner date at our favorite restaurant...
So I was on my way home from work and got stuck at a stoplight at a busy intersection. The sun was just beginning to set (this sounds like I'm making it up but I'm not) and the rays happened to hit this bracelet, which I'd just purchased and was admiring while waiting for my green light. While I love the larger charms, in the sunlight I was able to see the patterns and shapes of the very tiniest beads and was struck by both the artistry and patience it took to select and string them all. The fact that the bracelet also relates to "Carmen," the first live opera I ever attended, makes this piece just perfect.
Thank you for this beautiful affordable bracelet. Cindy's willingness to "tweek" it just a little made it a custom gift for a family member.
