Another beautiful bracelet from Opera Bracelets! I love the calming affect it has, with themes of nature and goddesses, and lovely colors. It is a wonderful reminder of the opera for me. Cindy puts her heart and time in all these bracelets, and it shows!
The Casta Diva Bracelet is inspired by the character of Norma from Bellini's opera. The druids seek war against the invading Romans, but priestess Norma, secretly in love with the Roman proconsul, Pollione, prays for peace.
A tree charm evokes the sacred grove. A woman's face in a crescent moon symbolizes the moon goddess Norma prays to for peace and the safety of her love. A mistletoe charm represents Norma's duty as priestess to cut mistletoe from the sacred oak tree.
I chose opalescent beads to evoke the silvery moonlight. Glass flowers and leaves indicate the verbena flowers Norma is described as wearing. Tiny pearls with green beads indicate mistletoe.
All "Inspired By..." Series Bracelets come with a card that identifies the symbolism of the charms and colors used.
Not only is the bracelet elegant and beautiful, it is so much fun. I loved looking at it and remembering the aria! The artist included a handwritten personal note as well as nice little tea and cookie package. Next time, I will buy in person because I am sure it will be a new level of special!
