Wonderful Bracelet
I love this bracelet and wear it many times a week to celebrate my favorite opera. Excellent quality and easy to put on.
Part of the "Inspired by…" series, the Laugh Clown Bracelet is inspired by the final aria from Act 1 of Pagliacci by Ruggero Leoncavallo. Canio realizes Nedda doesn't love him ... heartbroken and furious he never the less puts on his clown makeup reflecting on how his pain must be covered by laughter.
Black & white beads represent traditional colors of Pagliaccio's costume in the Commedia dell'Arte. The masks charm symbolizes Canio's inner anguish; entwined hearts are doomed lovers Nedda & Silvio; the dagger and blood red beads evoke the opera's tragic violent end.
All "Inspired By..." Series Bracelets come with a card that identifies the symbolism of the charms and colors used.

I was so happy that the website which displays the bracelets allowed me to get a close-up view of the individuals parts of each one. It meant that when the three of them came, they looked just as I expected, just lovelier in person. I can't wait to give them as gifts.
Bought this with the idea that my husband could give it to me for Christmas. He never knows what to give me. Problem? I don't want to wait to wear it.That means a 2nd bracelet. Second problem? Too many favorite operas with too many beautiful bracelets. How to choose? Laugh Clown is a beautiful design.
