I bought this as a gift, so it will be a while before I know what the recipient thinks, but I love the way it looks, the packaging, and the thoughtful thank you gift!
The delights of Venus are not enough for Tannhauser who longs for the simple delights of his village. There he discovers that the beautiful Elizabeth has been pining away for him. But, his sinful life catches up with him. The Pope refuses him absolution, stating that his redemption is less likely than the wood of his staff sprouting leaves. The pure and holy Elizabeth devotes herself to praying for his salvation. While both die within hours of each other, Elizabeth’s success is proven by a miracle of mercy, when pilgrims arrive to proclaim that the Pope’s staff has grown leaves!
The image of those leaves sprouting has stayed with me since the first time I read the synopsis of Tannhauser. Every time I saw leaf beads I would think about it! I was delighted to find these bright green leaf beads that catch the light for use on the Tannhauser’s Redemption Bracelet. The “miracle of mercy” is further represented by a gold leaf charm. Contrasting deep amber beads evoke the Pope’s wooden staff. Venus is represented by a charm; A heart with a cross symbolizes the devoted Elizabeth. Red heart beads evoke the sensual pleasures of Venus; clear hearts are the pure love of Elizabeth.
All "Inspired By..." Series Bracelets come with a card that identifies the symbolism of the charms and colors used.
It's a beautiful bracelet and I love wearing it!
